Loyola students return from Pope Francis trip
Eighteen sophomores and juniors from Loyola High School of Los Angeles travelled to Philadelphia to greet Pope Francis as part of 2 Philly 4 Francis: Ignatian Pilgrims on the Journey. Archbishop Gomez launches new Hispanic Catholic radio station at cathedral

Gov. Brown signs End of Life Option Act
On Oct. 5, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law the End of Life Option Act, allowing terminally ill patients to choose to end their lives via physican-assisted suicide. The bill will go into effect next year, concluding a 23-year battle to legalize a “right-to-die” law in California.
