The LAPD informed the Department of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles this morning that there is no evidence at this time that the threat made against LAUSD applies to Catholic schools.  Catholic school principals will determine whether it is in the best interest of students, faculty and staff to close today.  Archdiocesan staff who have students impacted by the unexpected closure do not have to report for work today so that they may be with their children and families at this uncertain time.  We remain in communication with police investigating the matter and will take any necessary steps to ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff.  Our prayers are with the police and authorities investigating this matter, and the students, teachers and families impacted by the closure.
