PN 7167 Condolence Letter

Pope Francis has expressed deep sadness about yesterday’s mass shooting in Thousand Oaks. In a letter sent to Archbishop José H. Gomez this morning, the Holy Father shared that he is praying that God may grant eternal rest to those who died in the attack, and for healing and consolation to those impacted by the tragedy.

“This morning I received a beautiful note of condolence from the Apostolic Nunciature in the United States on behalf of Pope Francis, sharing his prayers and spiritual closeness to all those affected by yesterday’s shooting in Thousand Oaks,” said Archbishop Gomez. “Let us join our Holy Father today in keeping the victims and their families in our prayers.”
