Resurrection Catholic School in Boyle Heights, a small inner city Catholic school serving students in preschool through eighth grade in East Los Angeles, announced today to students and parents that it has been selected as the winner of the Seton Education Partners national search to implement a “blended” learning program beginning in the 2015-2016 school year.  Competing against schools in Memphis, Philadelphia and Baton Rouge, Resurrection School will join the Seton Blended Learning Network as the third school in Southern California to implement this model.

The blended learning model brings small group instruction and differentiated technology software into the classroom, so that students can learn and grow according to their individualized learning pathway.  Driven by results, smart collaboration and character formation, scholars have achieved growth on par with or outpacing that of the strongest charter school networks.  This unique program has been featured in The New York Times, Education Week and US Catholic Magazine.

“We are very excited to make this much anticipated announcement to our school and surrounding community,” said Mrs. Angelica Figueroa, Resurrection School Principal. “Every single one of our students deserves the opportunity to maximize their potential and reach academic success.  We are grateful to the Seton Blended Learning Network and all of our supporters and benefactors that have made this possible for our students and community.”

Seton Education Partners seeks to revive opportunities for disadvantaged children in America to receive a Catholic education that builds knowledge, character and faith.  Along with the investment of many respected foundations, including Specialty Family Foundation and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Resurrection Catholic School will bring this $500,000 opportunity to their school and surrounding community.

The mission of Resurrection Catholic School is to prepare students to grow academically and spiritually through Catholic values in order to be college ready and to lead. To learn more, please call 323.261.5750 or visit www.resurrection-school.org.
