Christ the King Elementary School will be hosting a blessing ceremony to celebrate the renovation of the school led by Archbishop José H. Gomez on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 10am in the school’s parking lot. Fr. Juan Ochoa, school and parish administrator, Principal Ruth Anderson, and other Archdiocesan representatives will be in attendance. The celebration will be livestreamed through Facebook and YouTube, and only a few families and guests will be in attendance due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

A complete upgrade of Christ the King School was possible thanks to the generosity of Shea Family Charities. The renovation included completely remodeled classrooms for students in Kindergarten to 8thgrade, cabinets, windows, and central air condition units following the CDPH guidelines for schools. The remodeling also included full renovation of the school’s offices, and the conversion of three new spaces: Academic Resources Room, Faculty Room and a new STEM Lab.

“During this time of pandemic, which has affected everyone in so many different ways, the faith community of Christ the King Church and School want to take some time to recognize the blessings received in the newly renovated school,” said Fr. Juan Ochoa. “While there is a lot of pain and uncertainty during this time, we also want to recognize the good things taking place. Our community has been blessed with the generous support of others to renovate our school. The blessing of the school is an opportunity to give thanks to God and to the individuals who have made this possible.”
