Archbishop Gomez Celebrates St. Monica Academy Graduation
On June 17, Archbishop of Los Angeles Jose Gomez celebrated St. Monica Academy’s Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation at the school’s new Montrose campus. After celebrating Mass along with six other priests, Archbishop Gomez gave the commencement address and conferred diplomas upon St. Monica Academy’s 8th Grade and Senior graduates. In his address, the Archbishop urged the graduates to pray unceasingly and become saints. The ceremony closed with the graduates singing the words of their Alma Mater: “Crusaders, fight the good fight throughout your future lives. Proclaim the truth with courage knowing Christ is at your side.”

The Archbishop’s Eyes
My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the diaconate ordinations for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles last weekend. This was my first ordination since being ordained last year. Like your own wedding, it is hard to be fully involved in your own ordination. This year, I was able to relive those moments in my own ordination that I did not fully appreciate and some that I did.
