ARCHBISHOP GOMEZ LEADS NATION IN VIRTUAL ROSARY FOR AMERICA AVAILABLE TODAY

Archbishop José H. Gomez, joined by bishops from across the country, leads faithful in praying a virtual rosary for the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, to seek our Blessed Mother’s intercession for the nation. The Rosary for America video is available today at https://lacatholics.org/rosary-for-america/.

“Our hope is to unite Catholic people from across the country in a moment of prayer for our nation, at a time when there is so much unrest and uncertainty,” said Archbishop Gomez.

As the Holy Father Pope Francis urged all Catholics today to pray the rosary especially amid the “looming threats to the world,” such as the pandemic, faithful are encouraged to join in this prayerful moment of unity for our country, to seek healing and to ask Our Lady, on her feast, to pray for us and help lead us to Jesus.

“We ask Mary to look upon our nation with her mother’s eyes. We ask her to intercede for this great nation,” said Archbishop Gomez as he introduced the Rosary for America. “We pray that America might fulfill the beautiful vision of our missionaries and founders. As a land where all men and women are treated as children of God. With equality, liberty, and justice for all.”

Archbishop Gomez was joined by several bishops, representing the various geographical regions of the United States, to pray a part of the rosary premiered today on the USCCB’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

“As the missionaries blazed the trails of this country, let’s light up the “digital highways” with signs of our faith in Jesus,” said Archbishop Gomez as he closed the rosary. “Let’s post our prayer intentions and images of our rosaries everywhere today on social media. Let’s claim these “digital highways” for Jesus and Mary!”
