Local celebrations to include New Evangelization Vigil for Blessed Pope John Paul II and Archdiocesan Mass of Thanksgiving at Cathedral in honor of the canonization of both popes
Media covering the canonization of Blessed Popes John Paul II and John XXIII in Rome on April 27 are reminded that the Holy See Press Office’s deadline for all applications for credentials is Monday, April 7.

Locally, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles will present two special celebrations at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels commemorating the historic canonization.
On Saturday April 26, the Office of New Evangelization will present a vigil at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral, celebrating the life and pontificate of Blessed Pope John Paul II. This will be a moving tribute in prayer, song and worship to Pope John Paul II that will include personal testimonials from faithful who met Pope John Paul II during his pontificate.
Archbishop José H. Gomez will celebrate the Archdiocesan Mass of Thanksgiving in honor of the canonization of Blessed Popes John Paul II and John XXIII on Sunday April 27, at 3:30 p.m. at the Cathedral. Faithful from throughout the Archdiocese will gather in the celebration of the Eucharist to give thanks for the soon-to-be saints.
