In the eyes of Our Lady of Guadalupe
As I write, we have just concluded the first of our celebrations for the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It was a blessing to see so many of you — several thousand — at our festivities and midnight Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

A way forward on immigration
This past weekend, we began our celebrations of the Virgin of Guadalupe. It was so good to see so many of you and your families coming to praise Our Lady at the Dec. 4 procession and Mass in East Los Angeles.

Waking up to God’s presence
Advent is the season for renewing our awareness of God’s presence in our lives.
The Scripture readings we hear at the beginning of Advent are about “waking up” and “being alert.” There is a reason for that.
