I am so happy that Pope Francis has given us this new day to remember Mary each year on the Monday after Pentecost.
This was our Lord’s dying wish and his final gift to us. The words that Jesus spoke as he hung on the cross, he speaks today to you and to me — and to the whole Church. He tells us to look into the eyes of Mary, and he says to us, “Behold, your mother!” -

Time for DACA compromise — Pass the USA Act
The time has come for our leaders in Congress to do what is right and pass legislation that will provide a permanent solution for the nearly 2 million young people who were brought to this country as small children by undocumented parents or family members.

It is Confirmation season and I have the joy to be celebrating this sacrament with young people in parishes throughout the archdiocese. -
