LA: Inmigrantes honran a la Guadalupana
Son las 4:30 de la mañana y el Padre Julio Ramos llegó a la Iglesia de la Soledad y la encontró revestida de niebla. Era el domingo 5 de diciembre y la calle César Chávez frente a este icónico templo del Este de Los Ángeles, se empezaba a llenar de pasos, susurros –en inglés, español, en náhuatl- y de llamativos trajes, algunos con plumajes exóticos y coloridos. Luego se dejaron escuchar estrofas de cánticos, trompetas que se afinaban y tambores que empezaban a marcar el ritmo del corazón. Cuando el sol iluminó el paisaje urbano de La Soledad, una multitud rodeaba al Padre Julio y los olores de rosas recién cortadas, de café de olla, atole y chocolate caliente, ya eran parte de la escena vibrante en honor a la Guadalupana.
