College hosts retreat for Los Angeles regional deacons

Over the weekend, Thomas Aquinas College hosted a retreat for the deacons who serve the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Santa Barbara pastoral region. “Bishop Barron has a particular desire that the deacons in his region have an annual retreat that will really deepen their spiritual lives,” says Deacon Chris Sandner, regional assistant to the Most Rev. Robert Barron. “The campus at Thomas Aquinas College was the perfect place to do just that. We were all very grateful to be here.”

Bishop Robert Barron celebrates St. Monica Academy Graduation

On June 8, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles Robert Barron celebrated St. Monica Academy’s Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation. After celebrating Mass with five other priests, Bishop Barron delivered the commencement address and conferred diplomas upon St. Monica Academy’s 8th Grade and 12th Grade graduates.

Bishop O’Connell blesses St. Andrew School before renovations begin

The celebration marked the last school Mass of the year, and the last Mass before the school undergoes a major construction project. Due to the generosity of the Shea Family Foundation, St. Andrew Parish and generous donors, St. Andrew School will receive much needed renovations over the summer.

Trudeau, new auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, celebrated Solemn Vespers and the Blessing of the Pontifical Insignia on the eve of the Ordination of the Bishop-elect, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

St. John’s Seminary announces 2018 Gala honorees

St. John’s Seminary will honor three of its distinguished alumni and a dedicated Catholic leader at its Annual Gala this year.

The event is set for Saturday, September 22, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, and will benefit St. John’s mission to prepare priests for service in the Archdiocese.
