LA sister’s prison ministry marks 20 years in the ‘mercy business’

They had just received the news that their prison ministry, the Partnership for Re-Entry Program (PREP), had been awarded $800,000, the biggest grant in its history. It was an anniversary gift of sorts from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, coming as PREP celebrates 20 years of restorative justice in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

2022 pilgrimage schedule for Guadalupe, St. Juan Diego images Angelus Staff
The pilgrim images of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego have begun their annual tour through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, with a kick-off celebration at Our Lady of Guadalupe “La Lupita” Parish in El Monte on Oct. 22. The “tardeada,” or afternoon family celebration, was a fundraising event with singing, dancing, food, and raffles open to all LA Catholics.
