Sagrado Corazon breaks ground for new church
Sagrado Corazon and Santa Maria de Guadalupe Church in Cudahy is a faith-filled community where worshippers attend Mass in an outdoor church they call “the annex.” The largely immigrant parishioners flock to the annex to hear the gospel each Sunday despite not having a building with four walls, sometimes weathering rain, cold or fiercely hot summers. Fortunately, the community will not have to worship in these conditions much longer.

Msgr. Jeremiah Timothy Murphy, priest for more than 50 years, dies at 79
Msgr. Jeremiah Timothy Murphy, a faithful servant of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles known for his love for the priesthood, rigorous intellectual life and unfailing work as a parish priest despite being confined to a wheelchair, died on March 1 surrounded by family and friends. He was 79 years old.
