Sisters Offer 80 Years of Spiritual Care at Dignity Health–St. Mary Medical Center
Each year, National Catholic Sisters Week is celebrated March 8-14 to honor religious women for all they have done. This is a wonderful time for Dignity Health hospitals to reflect on the rich history and mission of their founding Sisters, while also giving thanks for the spiritual care provided to patients in their time of need.

St. Gregory the Great Middle School Wins U.S. Navy SeaPerch Competition
On March 3, 2018, St. Gregory the Great School in Whittier, CA, won the United States Navy SeaPerch Underwater Robotics Los Angeles regional competition for the middle school division.

On Sunday, March 11, the Academic Decathlon team at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic School in Redondo Beach placed first out of 105 schools competing at the 28th Los Angeles Archdiocese Academic Decathlon.

Local churches join together to worship and rebuild after arson
On March 11, 2018, Pasadena’s Episcopal Church of the Angels held a choral evensong to benefit the arson-damaged Resurrection Catholic Church in Boyle Heights. Both victims of recent vandalism and arson, the two churches have formed an unexpected bond.

Ramona Convent Secondary School joins Harvard’s “Making Caring Common” project
Alhambra, CA — Ramona Convent Secondary School is among the country’s first schools to join a national campaign designed to help young people become constructive community members who create a better world. Led by Harvard’s Making Caring Common project, the Caring Schools #CommonGood campaign aims to motivate schools to take action to help mend our country’s fractures and strengthen democracy.

Youth Day kicks off 2018 Religious Education Congress in Anaheim
More than 15,000 adolescents from throughout California and other states will attend Youth Day on Thursday, March 15 kicking off the 2018 Religious Education Congress, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Office of Religious Education. The event is open to all who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith or seek personal growth.
