Faithful fill cathedral with love for Our Lady of Guadalupe
Faithful Catholics from across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, especially those of Latin American descent or origin, celebrated the vigil Mass of Mary the “Mother of the Americas,” on Monday night, Dec. 11 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia. Our Lady of Guadalupe’s feast day is Dec. 12. Many attendees began the evening by gathering at eight city parishes and walking the streets to the cathedral on a pilgrimage featuring festive displays and banners, ending in the cathedral for the start of Mass. Archbishop Charles Chaput was the homilist and Bishop Edward Deliman the celebrant of the Mass.
