‘Vita’ means life
CAMARILLO — On July 22-23, more than one hundred people attended the very first Vita Institute ever held in southern California. The two-day institute, sponsored by the Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the archdiocese’s Office of Life, Justice and Peace, was held at St John’s Seminary and presented a condensed version of an elite training program for leaders in the national pro-life movement.

The magic of Dog Day Afternoon
More than 1,000 canines and 1,500 people attended the 10th annual Dog Day Afternoon gathering on the plaza of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles on July 13. Hosted and organized by the Downtown Center Business Improvement District and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the event brings together downtown residents and their canines for an evening of food, music and companionship.
