The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Downtown Los Angeles will be celebrate World Marriage Day on Sunday, Feb. 12 during the 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Masses.

I was reading a Washington columnist the other day who described the way things look from the nation’s capitol: “We are living through big history and no one here knows where it’s going or how this period ends. Everyone — left, right and center — feels the earth is unsteady under their feet. Too much is happening.”

A Local’s Guide to the 100 Architectural Wonders of L.A.
Los Angeles has always been a city of whimsy and experimentation. Ours is a landscape dotted with fantastical castles built by dreamers who moved west. And have you seen the mid-century modern homes scattered among the hills? (Show of hands, who’s just here for the mid-century modern stuff?) Not to mention we’re home to world class architects and contemporary innovators cooking up solutions to the problems of homelessness and urbanization. Granted, there’s aprox. a billion more incredible buildings here that could have made this list, but hey, we’re finite people in an infinitely fascinating city, and we had to start somewhere.

Archdiocese readies immigrant community for uncertain future
“In parish communities, we have seen uncertainty, fear and restlessness because families don’t know exactly what’s going to happen in the wake of President [Donald] Trump’s rise to power,” said Jaime Huerta, associate director of the Office of Life, Justice and Peace in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
