Alverno Heights Academy Students Participates in Youth Day 2018
Religious Education Congress, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Office of Religious Education, is the nation’s largest annual gathering of Roman Catholics. This year’s theme was “Rise Up” and the girls, along with Campus Minister Ms. Katharine Guerrero, got to enjoy speakers and workshops from Catholic leaders across the country!

Sisters Offer 80 Years of Spiritual Care at Dignity Health–St. Mary Medical Center

On Sunday, March 11, the Academic Decathlon team at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic School in Redondo Beach placed first out of 105 schools competing at the 28th Los Angeles Archdiocese Academic Decathlon.

Local churches join together to worship and rebuild after arson
On March 11, 2018, Pasadena’s Episcopal Church of the Angels held a choral evensong to benefit the arson-damaged Resurrection Catholic Church in Boyle Heights. Both victims of recent vandalism and arson, the two churches have formed an unexpected bond.

Each year the Archdiocese of Los Angeles hosts the Religious Education Congress, a Catholic formation event that this year is expected to draw 40,000 from around the country and around the world. This year’s Congress will take place March 16-18 in Anaheim, CA and the theme is ‘Rise Up!’
