Mass and Anointing of the Sick – Observance of World Day of the Sick and the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes: The gathering begins with a Rosary, noon, and followed by Archbishop José H. Gomez celebrating the Mass, 12:30 p.m. The bilingual Mass includes anointing of the sick and blessing of caregiver hands with water from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes in France. Attendees receive Lourdes water and a holy card. The Mass is co-presented by the Order of Malta – Los Angeles. Members of the Order of Malta will collect attendees’ prayer intention cards and place the cards in a petition box at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes during their annual pilgrimage in May 2024.
