Weeklong celebration of Catholic Schools begins Sunday
Catholic Schools Week begins Sunday and continues through Saturday with both in-person and virtual celebrations for students and their families, church members and the general public.
This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” Activities will include special masses, open houses and a variety of special activities for students.

Speakers stress message of hope at OneLife LA’s in-person return
If this year’s OneLife LA event, themed “Forward in Hope!,” was going for hope, the day delivered.
For several hours on Saturday, Jan. 22 in downtown Los Angeles, the word seemed to hang in the air. It was on the signs, the banners, and the words spoken by the lineup of speakers — some of whom acknowledged the real possibility that the U.S. Supreme Court could overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade decision later this year.

It is easy to remain in a jaded rut over the current state of what some refer to as today’s “culture war.”
But then God sends us little messages to keep us grounded. He must think we need constant reminders, given that the phrase “fear not” or “be not afraid” appears more than 100 times in the Old Testament and over 40 times in the New Testament.
