La Cañada Preparatory’s student council has been as busy as Santa’s little elves this holiday season.
For Thanksgiving the group sponsored a food drive for the Los Angeles Mission Food Bank, and with the help of the entire Learning Castle and La Cañada Preparatory student and parent body, collected more than 650 pounds of nonperishable sundries for needy families. -

Delia Johnson heard from her family contacts that Major Slaughter, the brother of her former husband, had died recently after a long struggle experiencing homelessness. Johnson knew a bit about the situation of the man best known by as “Cowboy.” But she had long since lost touch with him.

Marshall’s ACI Students Visit the Historic San Gabriel Mission
Before the Christmas break Marshall Fundamental School students enrolled in the Academy for Creative Industries (ACI) attended an ACI field trip at the Historic San Gabriel Mission Theater for the Pasadena Dance Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker Ballet. The tour included information about the mission itself, the museum collection, and preservation work.
