L.A. ARCHDIOCESE CELEBRATES RESPECT LIFE MONTH
Faithful are encouraged to join a series of webinars and join the conversation of topics that are affecting our community such as loneliness, racial justice and economic justice
In recognition of Respect Life Month (October 1-31), the Office of Life, Justice and Peace of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, together with the Diocese of Orange, is bringing a series of speakers to discuss topics that are affecting our community, due to the current events including economic justice, racism, and loneliness.
“This year, we have chosen topics that are at the center of our world. Our hope is that these topics enlighten and remind us that at the heart of each issue is the human person,” said Gina Vides, parish engagement strategist of the Office of Life, Justice and Peace. “The topics are not just theoretical or political, but they are personal because they affect our lives and the lives of our brothers and sisters. To create a world where every person is loved, each person must spread kindness, mercy and an authentic understanding of being part of the human family. Only then will abortion and other attacks on human life end. Over these past months, we have seen civil unrest and chaos spread across our country. Now more than ever, people of faith must be the voice of reason as we seek unity and spread mercy.”
The Respect Life Month webinars begin October 8 and ends November 18 with webinars discussing a variety of topics such as: abortion, economic justice, racism, forgiveness and mercy, faithful citizenship, mental health and loneliness. These webinars are free and open to the public. In addition to these webinars, faithful have access to resources on the official web page of Respect Life Month. Resources, which include prayer cards, social cards, USCCB resources, Leader’s Toolkit and Mass intercessions for each week.
